The nasal septum is the key central supporting structure in the nose.
There has been a shift from excisional to conservation techniques to maintain the lower 2/3 of the nose and in many cases to now reinforce or extent the septum at its angles to provide a foundation for the tip.
The course will cover in a logical way the various pathologies and surgical management of septal deformities in relation to Rhinoplasty.
- To understand the development and form of the septum.
- Understand the relevance of the septum to function.
- Review the surgical approaches to the septum.
- Manage the peripheral margins of the septum following trauma.
