Save the Date

Dear Colleague,
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the Second Bergamo Biennial Open Rhinoplasty Course, specifically devoted to open rhinoplasty, whose Faculty includes reputed masters who mainly or exclusively practice the open approach.
This intensive symposium will be practical in nature, and will focus in detail on state-of-the-art primary and secondary open rhinoplasty techniques, with due emphasis on aesthetics and function, in a personal and approachable format. A limited enrolment will encourage and maximize exchange between participants and Faculty.

The course is aimed to all physicians performing nasal surgery, mainly plastic, ENT and maxillo-facial surgeons. It will cover in depth both the basics of the open approach for the beginner, as well as serve as a refresher and address refinements and specific advanced details for the proficient rhinoplasty surgeon.
Lectures and videos will systematically analyze specific and sequential topics, with adequate time allotted for discussion with the audience and a maximal educational benefit. The personal approach to open rhinoplasty of each Faculty member will be emphasized, and interactive panel discussions and case analyses will add to a mutual learning experience. Live surgery, telecasted from the “Ospedali Riuniti”, will again be a highlight of the course due to its stimulating educational benefit, allowing a proper view of technical pearls and fine details, as well as continuous interaction with the audience.

The First Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course, held on November 28-29, 2008 at the same location, counted a large international participation with attendees from 19 different countries, and enjoyed a positive response well beyond our expectations. In response to attendee requests and feedback from the evaluation forms, the Second Course will be even more comprehensive, being lengthened to two-and-a-half days in duration, and will include:
  • an expanded International Faculty
  • more topics
  • more videos, including 3-D videos and interactive videos commented by the author
  • live surgery
  • interactive panel discussions and case analyses
  • emphasis on tricks and tips
  • new breakthrough procedures
  • even greater opportunities for audience interaction with the Faculty
Also, a specific panel will address the emerging but confusing topic of “medical rhinoplasty”, including the use of botulinum toxin to the tip and the correction of specific contour deformities by fillers. Finally, a “selected abstracts corner” will offer participants the opportunity to present chosen communications of obvious merit, with a prize awarded to the best presentation.

The modern Congress Center is located at walking distance from the railway station, and can be reached in a few minutes from Bergamo/Milan’s Orio Al Serio International airport which serves many international destinations, as well as directly from the motorway exit. In March the weather in Bergamo is usually mild, and should allow some sightseeing or leisure activities in our historical city or its equally interesting surroundings. For further information about Bergamo and its scheduled events, please consult the “Key to Bergamo Tourist Magazine”, on the web site http://www.turismo.bergamo.it

We hope you will join us in Bergamo on March 11-13, 2010 and help us make this meeting a truly international event.
