SEVERE NASAL DEVIATION AND USE OF PDS FOIL. TIPS AND COMMENTSIoannis Petropoulos I present my experience and results after using PDS foil in patients with severe nasal deviation in a period of 6 years. 95 patients who were admitted in our department with breathing and aesthetic problems, underwent septo-rhinoplasty under general anesthesia. External approach was used. The nasal septum was totally exposed, was divited in straight pieces and and resutured in appropriate size of PDS foil. The new implant was put between the mucoperichondrium flaps . Sutures were placed to fixate the «new» septum to the nasal dorsum and to the anterior nasal spine. 3 years postoperatively one complication occured with septum subluxation noted. Pictures are demonstrated and tips and comments are discussed. Use of PDS foil is an important surgical option for the correction of severe deviation of the middle and lower third of the nose. « Back |
