Mr Charles East graduated from the University of London Medical School in 1980.
He was awarded the Hallett Prize by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and continued his training in ENT at Oxford, University College Hospital and the Middlesex Hospital, gaining FRCS qualification in 1986.

He was a senior clinical and research Fellow in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA for a year, and received his Certificate of Specialist Training from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1990.
His appointment as Consultant Surgeon to the National Post-Graduate Teaching Hospital, The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, in 1992 allowed him to practise general otolaryngology and develop a sub-speciality interest in nasal facial plastic surgery.
He now is Consultant Surgeon and lead clinician for the Rhinoplasty service at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital and the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, and is also part of the craniofacial surgery team at University College Hospital Foundation Trust.
He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of London and the Course Director for Plastic Surgery of the Nose and Techniques in Facial Plastic Surgery run by the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, University College London.

He is the UK Vice President of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and regularly lectures at national and international meetings. He is Course Director of the annual “Rhinoplasty & Septal Surgery Course” of the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London which regularly attracts an international audience and of the “Rhinoplasty Update Course” of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a faculty member at the Royal College of Surgeons for minimally invasive sinus surgery and course Tutor for national and international minimally invasive sinus surgery courses.

Mr. East also serves or has served on various committees and has been recipient of diverse awards and travelling fellowships.
Mr.East has written chapters in the textbook Scott - Brown's Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and is co-author of the highly successful textbook, Ear Nose and Throat - Head and Neck Surgery.
