Dr. Rollin Daniel was born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1943. He completed his medical degree from Columbia University, New York, in 1969. In the same year he started his plastic surgery training at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, and subsequently at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, Canada. Between 1972–1973 he served as Research Fellow in Microsurgery, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, coming back to the US as senior surgical resident at University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky in 1975. Between 1975 and 1985, Dr. Daniel completed his surgical fellowships in Hand Surgery (Kleinert Institute, Louisville, Kentucky), Head and Neck Surgery (M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas) and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery (Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada). Dr Daniel’s work in microsurgery as Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal was a pioneering milestone in free flap surgery.

As Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery University of California, Irvine and in private practice in Newport Beach, California, Dr Daniel’s work is now concentrated exclusively on rhinoplasty.

He has performed more than 4,500 rhinoplasties and published a total of six textbooks (two rhinoplasty texts, two texts on endoscopic facial surgery, and one on aesthetic plastic surgery): he wrote more than 56 chapters in numerous textbooks of plastic surgery, and published 225 journal articles. His textbooks “Mastering Rhinoplasty” (2nd Ed, 2010) and “Rhinoplasty: An Atlas of Surgical Techniques” (2002) are world renowned.

In addition to his clinical work and writing, Dr. Daniel lectures extensively as an international authority in the field of rhinoplasty. He has held many Visiting Professorships in the US and abroad, and has been on the Faculty of the most significant international instructional courses on the topic of open rhinoplasty. His lecture on Open Rhinoplasty to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in 1982 was the first ever given on the topic.

He is listed in Best Doctors of America for his surgical expertise in rhinoplasty surgery.

Doctor Rollin Daniel is a Founding Member of The Rhinoplasty Society and a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
